Carvacrol

Carvacrol is a monoterpenoid phenol, found in many herbs, that is very effective in lowering blood pressure. It reduces the heart rate, mean arterial pressure and both the diastolic and systolic blood pressures. It can also help to lower LDL cholesterol levels.

Carvacrol acts as a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory agent so is useful for many health conditions caused by inflammation. It can also help with sinus congestion, colds, coughs and influenza and weight management and has anticancer properties.

Carvacrol has very powerful antimicrobial properties against bacteria, fungi and viruses. It has been shown in studies to inhibit the growth of several bacteria strains such as Bacillus cereus, Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis.

Although oregano oil can help with some skin ailments, like acne, it may irritate sensitive skin.
