Allicin is a phytochemical with powerful antimicrobial and tumour fighting properties. It can also help to reduce atherosclerosis and fat deposition, normalise the lipoprotein balance, decrease blood pressure, has anti-thrombotic and anti-inflammatory activities and functions as an antioxidant.
When vegetables containing allicin are chopped they should be left for 10 minutes to enable the chemical reaction to take place which produces allicin.
Allicin has cancer killing abilities and can help clear up spots and recurring lumps that weep. Slice a clove of garlic, allow to stand for 10 minutes then hold a slice on the spot or mole for about three or four minutes. It will sting slightly. Then apply some aloe vera gel or coconut or vitamin E oil. Do this two or three times a day for two or three days and the lump should disappear. Consume the rest of the clove and eat three or four cloves of garlic per day.
NOTE: Some people and animals cannot ingest raw vegetables containing allicin as it can cause damage to their stomach linings in which case it should be cooked lightly.
