Pineapple, ginger and cinnamon smoothie
This powerful anti-inflammatory smoothie contains nutrients that will help the body repair itself especially knee joints, ligaments and tendons such as beta-carotene, bromelain, calcium, copper, fibre, iron, magnesium, manganese, omega-3 fatty acids, phosphorus, potassium, selenium, silicon, vitamins A, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9, C, E, K and zinc.
Cook the oatmeal.
In a powerful blender, mix the orange juice, cinnamon, coconut oil, ginger, turmeric, honey, hemp seeds and almonds.
Then add the oatmeal and blend again.
Add several ice cubes and blend once more.
*The coconut oil is important as some of the nutrients in this smoothie are fat-soluble and need some oil consumed at the same time in order to be absorbed by the body.
NOTE: Over consumption of oats, which contain purines, can cause problems for those suffering with gout or bladder or kidney stones.
